During my exploration of the island, I stumbled upon a complimentary magazine that provided some recommended activities for us to enjoy in St. Johns.

St. John is a picturesque island located in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), a stunning Caribbean archipelago known for its turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and lush tropical landscapes.

Most people when they head out the Caribbean are wanting beach, cruise, sailing, shopping, or some sort of relaxing escape. For me, I cannot just be stuck on an all-inclusive for days on end and need to do something.

Arriving on the island there is not a lot to do besides head to the beach or shop at some of the local duty free shops. The closest spot to the ferry depot is Mongoose Junction. This outdoor tree house inspired shopping center is made up of stone and mahogany with winding walk ways with shops, art galleries, as well as restaurants hidden around various corners.

When I was looking at our cruise the main thing that I did not want to do was to book excursions through the cruise line as no they are more expensive than going direct. However since we had an onboard credit that we weren't going to use for anything else there was no reason for us not to use it for this reason as it would save us money from paying out of pocket for the cheaper excursions.

While the restaurants on the island are always changing, here are a few of the favourites of the locals I chatted to while in town.
