Planning the perfect trip can be incredibly stressful and your time is valuable. You deserve a stress-free vacation. After all, you work hard so why should you research hard for a vacation?

Plus, as booking your own travel has become easier and easier over the years, it has also become harder to know what companies are legit but also what the travel requirements (ex. Visa’s, Vaccine Requirements, etc) are required in the destination you want to go to. While it is great that you can book trips yourself, everyday it seems there are stories in the news about people being rejected from boarding airplanes or turned around at boarders because of laws that those people deem unfair because they did not know about them.

Let me do all the hard work for you.

There are 4 major reasons why you should be working with The Female Abroad.

No kickbacks or partnerships like regular Travel Agencies. This means that my loyalty is to you so you get recommendations that are suited and handpicked for you. While we might have affiliate agreements with suppliers we trust and use often, these are not take into consideration unless it is an item that fits into your trip.
Experience! With over 15 years of experience planning trips, creating itineraries, running a travel agency, working in a hotel, visiting 20+ countries on 4 continents, sending clients around the world, teaching Hospitality Business Management & Travel Tourism to post-secondary, becoming a Travel Writer and Featured Travel Expert, and so much more; is there anything Emily hasn’t done?
Peace of mind. Knowing that I have a strong background in the Travel and Hospitality fields as well as being a world traveller, can really put your mind at ease.
Trust. I would never suggest something that I would not do myself (unless it is something you love but I won’t do like skydiving or spiders handling). If it is sketchy, questionable, untrustworthy, has poor reviews, or red flags then I won’t offer it to you.

Besides all the questionable companies, it also takes a lot of time to do research. How long have you spent looking at:

Entry / exit requirements
car rental vs. uber, transportation from A to B
hotel vs. vacation rental, safe neighbourhoods to stay, etc
activities
holidays, festivals, and other religious activities that could hamper your trip

not to mention all the other items that go into a trip

Then there is also the question of how much is your time worth? You could even look at it this way, let’s say you make $40/hour at your job, how long would it take you to research all the parts of your trip? On average people say 12 hours for research on a long weekend trip. So $40 x 12 = $480. It cost you almost $500 and 12 hours away from your kids, your hobby, your sleep, or anything else you could have been doing in that time to book a trip that is one day more than a weekend, not even close to a week!

My services are on a first-come, first-serve basis and I only take on 5 travel itineraries per month due to the time I take to make sure each one is perfect.

If it is unsafe or sketchy, I will not recommend it
I will only mark things as “The Female Abroad Recommended” if I have stayed at or used the services of the recommendation
Unless otherwise requested or stated, I will not recommend anything with less than a four-star review
I will be honest, if a trip you want to do is not possible then I will make suggestions in ways to amend the trip (ex. Rent a motorbike and do a self-drive trip of Tasmania – due to rental laws of the country this is not possible, driving Northern Norway in the Winter when the highways are notoriously unsafe, heading to China in January when practically everything is closed for the Lunar New Year festivities, etc)
I have not been everywhere but I will still find all the information you will need for your trip regardless of where it is
Above all, I am here to help YOU. I want your feedback and to hear how the trip went afterwards; the good, the bad, and the ugly (which you will find funny in the coming years)

If this sounds like the help you have been looking for, then make sure to fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page! Once you've done that, and The Female Abroad is available to assist you, there are six steps (minimum) that will follow:

1. Tell us about you and the trip. You will receive a link to the client intake form, which helps tell us how you want to travel.

2. Free Consultation. Schedule a free 15-minute call to go over the information I have received from you and the general idea of your trip. This helps you determine that I am a real person and helps me determine if you are a great client. This is a general "getting to know each other" call. It is a general overview to see if the trip is one that we can take on, the timeframe, what you are looking for, and what your expectations are. If you prefer having a longer chance to chat, you can book a 30-minute call for $50.

3. Quote, Contract and Payment. Once you have decided on which package you want, I will send over a quote. If the quote looks good then I will send over a contract and an invoice. Once the invoice paid in full and the contract is signed, I will get started on your itinerary.

4. Get the Travel Plan. This is a rough, point form brainstorm that may raise some questions or require that I have more information. Once this looks good, I start on the itinerary!

5. Get your Itinerary. Depending on the length & difficulty of the trip, you will receive your itinerary in 1-2 weeks. Depending on the package, there may be a chance to edit the options. Once everything looks good, the finally itinerary will be sent over to you with instructions on how to make the bookings for the options you want.

6. You can start booking! Use the instructions provided to make bookings based off the itinerary's recommendations.
