Alligators and the Everglades go hand in hand. They are also a few of the many things that Florida is known for and there is nothing like seeing these dangerous creatures up close

If you are staying in Fort Lauderdale and want to make a day trip down to Hollywood then you can jump on the Water Taxi which will take you right there or if you are in Hollywood and want to go to Fort Lauderdale then you can do that too.

South Florida is known for it's beaches and there are a few that are worth visiting; which to visit will depend on where you are staying, how far you want to travel, and what vibe you are feeling at that time.

When people hear "Hollywood" they automatically think California but there is a Hollywood in Florida.

The Riverwalk features 10 parks across a tropical waterfront in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

While we did not go on this boat while we were here our cabbie recommended it to us and the few times we went by there was a massive line up to get on. This riverboat has been doing these tours since 1935 so they are clearly doing something right if they are still as busy as ever.

Being from Vancouver and craft beer being really big up here, we were interested in the beer scene while we were in Fort Lauderdale as we had a weekend to kill.

If you are interested in getting around but don’t want to drive a car then there are bikes that you can rent and ride around the area, dropping them off from point A to point B. These bike rentals are provided by AvMed which seems to be a local medical insurance provider.

Being that Fort Lauderdale is such a touristy town (not as bad as some other parts of Florida) there is so much to choose from! While there I got chatting to our hotel concierge who recommended a few spots.
