Hot thermal springs were popular also in the past centuries amount the most varied cosmopolitan clients during the centuries, the spas were visited by famous personalities, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Gogol, Goethe, Kafka, Freud, Edison, Schopenhauer, Marx and Casanova. The Czech patriots preferred the Moravian spa of Luhacovice or the spa of Jesenik with the folk “water doctors” Vincenz Priessnitz, whose simple and vigorous methods, such as his famous anti-fever pack, are still very effective.
